Owner and Founder of INDIbyLi ~ Shalita Wells attended a conference (with her aunt Dr. Wanda Tucker and cousin Dr. Felicia Tucker-Lively) led by Her Excellency Camia Van-Dunem, spouse of the Ambassador of Angola to the United States of America focused on the role of African women in the USA and their legacy!
African Woman in USA gathered to celebrate and honor the legacy of African and Afro-descendant women in the United States and around the world. The women highlighted the impact of these women in various fields, such as politics, science, art, and economics since African women have always played a central role in society—whether as leaders, entrepreneurs, or caregivers.
This event fostered connections and exchanging between African, Afro-descendant, and other global communities, bringing together women who, through their work, inspire and transform societies. We gathered to share stories and experiences as African Woman in USA aim to continue to create a space for empowerment and learning, ensuring that the footprints of our women remain visible and enduring!
INDI had the absolute pleasure of attending a seminar at the Embassy of the Republica Angola in Washington, DC that focused on Health and Integrative Medicine where our Owner and Founder Shalita Wells attended the seminar with her beloved aunt Dr. Wanda Tucker. Mrs. Wells met the Ambassador and her excellency in addition to many business leaders in the health community. The panels of women brought a wealth of knowledge surrounding nutrition and the importance of health and medicine not only in Africa , but in the USA. This seminar focused heavily on the ways health should be the basis of our lives from what we eat, what we put on our skin, how we support our communities and how we live, which is a focal point of the INDI brand!
INDI was a vendor at Everlasting Life Vegan Restaurant www.eliferestaurant.com , known as eLIFE . This business is located in Capitol Heights, Maryland and owned and founded by Dr. Baruch, a naturopathic educator and health literacy expert. eLIFE has vegan food on one side of the establishment and the other, a space geared for weekly cultural vendors and a stage for entertainment and speakers! This event was hosted by Paul Barrow, Owner of @paultheconnector who is known for exclusive events in unique locations and connecting business professionals!

INDI was a vendor at another great Wellness Day event event hosted by Carl M. Freeman https://freemancompanies.com/ for their employees. This day of wellness and retreat was in Delaware at their beautiful Bayside location, where they provided healthy foods, wellness seminars, massages and so much more! During this event, INDI showcased several products and provided huge samples of the Eucalyptus and Lime Scrub to be placed in the restrooms so everyone could try them! This event was full of information surrounding nutrition, holistic healing and health and wellness. Not only did we meet some amazing business owners, Carl M. Freeman gifted every team member with custom designed INDI scrubs as gifts! Looking forward to the continued partnership and supporting their Maryland and Delaware teams!
